Abstract

Google Drive is one of the cloud-based storage platforms widely used by students to support academic activities, such as storing documents, sharing files, and collaborating in groups. The high usage of Google Drive has prompted the need to assess the extent to which this service is user-friendly from the users’ perspective. This study aims to investigate the usability of Google Drive as a data storage and collaboration tool for students in the Information Systems Study Program. This study employed a descriptive quantitative method with a survey approach. Data were collected by distributing a questionnaire to 31 students who actively use Google Drive in their academic activities. The research instrument was designed based on Nielsen’s five dimensions of usability, namely learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction, using a 1–5 Likert scale. The findings of this study indicate that the usability level of Google Drive scored an average of 4.16, which falls into the high category. The satisfaction dimension received the highest score of 4.35 followed by efficiency with a score of 4.29, memorability at 4.16, learnability at 4.10, and errors at 3.89. These results indicate that Google Drive is highly effective in meeting students’ academic storage and collaboration needs. However, certain aspects related to error handling and the clarity of information provided when issues arise still require attention to enhance the user experience
