Guidelines for Authors — IONTECH Journal

★ About The Journal

  • Publisher: Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM), Institut Sains dan Teknologi Al-Kamal
  • Article Types: Original Research and Review Articles
  • Objective: To advance scientific publication and the application of science and technology for society
  • Publication Frequency: Biannual (February and August)

★ Focus & Scope

  • IONTech Journal publishes peer-reviewed original research and review articles in Engineering and Pharmacy, covering basic and applied research.
  • Detailed focus areas and subject coverage are available in the Focus & Scope section of the journal website.

★ Article Type

  • Original Article: recent research findings within the journal’s scope.
  • Review Article: evaluation and interpretation of literature related to science/technology.

★ Manuscript Structure

  • Title: concise; max. 20 words.
  • Author Names & Affiliations: without academic titles; include institution, address, and country.
  • Abstract: 100–250 words, bilingual (Indonesian & English)/(ID & EN).
  • Main Text: Introduction, Methods, Results & Discussion, Conclusion.
  • References: APA style; ≥10 references; ≥80% primary sources (journals/patents; preferably within the last 10 years).

★ Format & Style

  • Manuscript length ≤ 20 pages (A4, double spacing, 12 pt font).
  • Use the official IONTECH template.
  • File format: MS Word (.docx).

★ Peer-Review Process

  • Double-blind review by 1–2 reviewers;
  • Decisions: accepted, minor/major revision, or rejected.
  • Plagiarism checked via Turnitin/Grammarly; maximum similarity 25%.

★ Publication Ethics

  • Refers to COPE – Committee on Publication Ethics Guidelines for authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
  • Publisher: Maintain integrity, editorial independence, open access, and digital preservation.
  • Editors: Fair, confidential, free from conflicts of interest.
  • Reviewers: Objective, confidential, support editorial decisions.
  • Authors: Original work, proper citation, no duplication, adhere to research ethics, ready to correct errors.

★ Article Charges

  • Article publication is Free
  • of charge; no APC or publication fees.

★ Authorship and Plagiarism

  • Plagiarism & Originality: Manuscripts must be original, not published or under review elsewhere, with proper citation; plagiarism ≤25%.
  • Authorship: First author is main contributor; corresponding author handles communication; co-authors listed by contribution.
  • Conflict of Interest: Must be avoided or transparently disclosed to the editor.

★ Copyright

  • Publication rights are managed by the editorial board while respecting authors’ moral rights.
  • Articles are open access under CC BY 4.0 for educational, research, and library use; other uses are the user’s responsibility.

★ Submission

  • Create an account on the journal website.
  • Log in → choose New Submission
  • Upload the manuscript following the template and complete article metadata.
  • Ensure the file is anonymized for double-blind review.
  • An email notification will be sent after successful submission.
